At the Sesquicentennial Birthday celebration in the Villard Room this past Thursday, four teams of students unveiled the cakes they created for the Bake-Off, a VSA-sponsored event that challenged students to construct the “biggest, most over-the-top Vassar-inspired cakes imaginable.” The four submissions were as impressive as they were diverse, ranging from towering, colorful depictions of life at Vassar, to a model of the Thompson library, to a chocolate-whiskey and maple syrup confection. While Jessica Leng ’11 and Nick Veazie ’13 won the first prize with their “Sescakecentennial,” each cake was awarded a superlative award.
