A Decade of All College Day murals

February 16th, 2010 by | 1 Comment »

On Wednesday, Feb. 24, the Campus Life Office will celebrate its tenth All College Day celebration in the College Center. Also commemorating ten years will be the the All College Day Mural Project, an open and anonymous opportunity for students and other passers-by to write—or paint—their thoughts about Vassar.

    To whomever is interested,
In 2004 I invested in an autograph book from the 1800′s; beginning in 1867 through 1874. The content was from Annie H. Ely a Vassar College student. She had gotten signatures from over 75 people. A few of the signatures are:
    J. H. Raymond
    Maria Mitchell
    Truman Backus
    Alida Avery
    Henry van Ingen
    Jessie Usher
    Helen Goodwin
    Jonathan Dey
    Henry Ely
    Lepha Clarke…

Also, the very first page is a stamp that looks to be of Matthew Vassar.

My hearts desire is to sale this investment to someone that would cherish this book for more then monumental value, preferably Vassar College alumni, so that the legacy will be inherited to a person with a heart for Vassar college instead of being auctioned off to an unknown bidder.
If anyone has advice, or if they know someone that might be interested please reply to me via my email at sharla4444@yahoo.com. It feels disrespectful to submit the autograph book to an auction for random bidding. I believe it to be of some worth to the right person.
Thank you for any advice or direction you might have.
    Sincerely,
    Sharla Kelley
